So. Stinking. Excited.

I wanted this post to have a very good title but I'm so excited and I can't even think straight right now.

Long story short, I found a group after my friend told me about it full of ropers from the Midwest on Facebook and I posted a short description of Red knowing that a lot of breeders from Minnesota are on there. Basically, I gave his registered name, birthdate, a photo and posted his pedigree. About 25 minutes later, a girl comments and tags a girl with the last name of his breeders and sure enough, a few minutes later I'm texting with the breeders daughter.

Oh. My. Gosh.

She's a total sweetheart and is being so helpful - she's very excited that he found a forever home and said so many great things about my boy. She said that she roped off of him at pro rodeos when they still owned him and that he's truly an amazing horse with a lot of heart. No surprise to me after I saw how he acts with the goats and cattle next door to the barn. He has three full brothers which I already knew, all three she said are AMAZING roping horses and the most kid friendly lovers in the world (definitely Red..) and she said that she always used a bit on him and he did just fine, which definitely leads me to believe that he got hurt by one at one point and he's just scared. I'll try to find out what kind of bit they used on him and try it out when he's home. She actually has a half-brother up for sale right now for $12,500 and I haven't been able to find a horse of theirs that's sold for less than $10,000.

She sent me photos of his full brother roping and pole bending with a little girl and I'll share those IF I get her permission to do so. He's absolutely gorgeous and I can definitely see the family resemblance, haha. I can see a lot of the same traits that I'm going to bet that they bred for (conformation, height, personality and ginormous hooves, lol!) She said that she's going to try to find more photos of the old sire and dam, they owned both horses and I'm guessing that they either passed away or were sold. Very excited to find out more info!! And I'm so happy that he got to have such good breeders. It seems like they are great people.
