She-Hulk.

Completely revamped the blog. I had been meaning to change everything after the New Year and completely forgot, then L at Viva Carlos reminded me to do it. ;) And some pictures I took at the barn today are apparently header-worthy soo.....thus the blog changed. Everything is in our colors, maroon/ish burgundy and green. Also the Hulk colors, which is fitting, because that's one of Red's nicknames. I am She-Hulk. He is..He-Hulk. ;)

Red was alright today. Still a bit stiff in his hinds (ALWAYS his hinds which leads to me to think-joint issues!) but much better in the warmer weather today. We'll see how he acts when it hits -1 tomorrow. :P

CUTEST THING THAT EVER DID CUTE
He smiled on command for his carrot & brown sugar treat, trotted after me and we just hung out for awhile. Cute pony was cute and extra snuggly.

Whaat???? You have a TREAT?

  1. Sounds like hock/stifle issues for sure.

    1. That's what I'm thinking. Sigh. Hopefully it'll go away in the warm weather!

  3. Hocks are usually the culprit in the hind. Might want to ask the vet about treatment.

    1. Asked her and she said she thinks it's only because of the weather, she recommended a few supplements for the time being and if that doesn't help by summer, maybe injections.

  5. How old is Red? I wonder if his general stiffness is kinda, sorta where he is at? Especially in the winter, and on hard surfaces more often.

    1. He just turned 12 last May. Getting slightly older but not old by any means...I've heard it's a typical age for heavier horses to start having issues though.

  6. Hopefully you can get his stiffness worked out. A vet work up is probably best like others have suggested. :)

    1. If he continues with it for much longer I'll have the vet out again. :) I've already had her out and she recommended supplements so I'll be ordering that in a couple days.

  7. Your probably going to have to get Red's stiffness looked at by a vet if it hasn't gone soon. Its unfair to leave him in pain in the cold weather. You do know him best though so I'm sure if it hurts you will get him seen :)
    LOVE the new blog design

    1. I had the vet check him out when the farrier was out last. She agreed with us that it's just the cold weather. He doesn't seem to be in much pain, just that his muscles are a bit tighter. We have him on bute and his stiffness isn't stopping him from running around like a loon in the pasture, and he's getting better slowly now....if it continues, I'll definitely get the vet back out. :) And thank you!
