Update.

So, we are in South Carolina, stopped at a hotel and the kids are eagerly looking around and trying to find fun stuff..right now they are obsessed over the microwave..

Anywho, A gave me a call this evening and gave me an update on Red.. He's walking fine with no more heat, swelling or stiffness but he hasn't been drinking as much as usual. We're going to start turning him out at night and keeping him stalled during the hotter period of day, we think he either just got overheated outside and didn't want to drink *inside* or got his fill of water at the running creek outside and just doesn't want to drink water inside. A made him drink some inside yesterday and called the vet just to be sure and she said that she basically agreed with us and she thinks it is founder but we caught it early enough and he's fine. She's coming out around mid July but she'll come earlier to the farm if needed. Love having an awesome vet!!

Anywho, he seems to be doing okay and I'm not too worried. A will call again tomorrow and probably every day that I'm gone, if she doesn't I'll just text her. Hahaha!

    1. Yes! It was in a cabinet! Such a trashy hotel... Looked nice and the beds were great but they have a bug problem. My little brother got stung, mom found a cockroach and there was an old baby bottle under my bed....

  4. Yuck, that doesn't sound like a first class hotel, but at least it's something.

    1. Oh yeah. Better to ease her into it! Try putting her on some low sodium feed and alfafa. Helps keep founder away.
