L-Latigo's and day 18 & 19 of 30 day challenge.

I am so late on the Alphabet challenge! Anywho, I'm on the letter "L" so... :)

Latigo:

A latigo is that strap on the right that is hanging down, they come in nylon, leather and etc. My old black saddle had a nylon one that I HATED, and my newer brown saddle has a leather strap like this one above. Latigo's are not used on every saddle, but they were more common in older saddles.
The method of securing the saddle to the horse. Rather than buckling on as does the English girth, the Western girth, known as a cinch, is anchored with a flat strap of leather or nylon called a latigo that may be secured with a flat knot, or via holes added so that a buckle can be used, either in place of the knot or in addition to one. I always do a flat knot, like this:

See the strap??? Instead of using the holes, they tied it. I feel more comfortable and secure having it tied than bucked.

See the latigo? They used the holes instead of tying. :)

Anywho, I'm also on day 18 and 19 of the 30 day challenge. :)

Day 18: Your favorite horse show picture: I don't show, so I don't have any pictures from that. :) I'll skip this one. Haha!
Day 19: A discipline you'd like to try:

Barrel racing! :) My mom used to barrel race and I'd love to try it! I love speed! :D
