Looks like my English saddle may have to wait until after February!! Mom came across a little colt on craigslist and we immediately thought, "wow!! That looks just like Barbie!" Barbie was our old miniature mare that I owned before Red, my first pony, also a wild, evil, crazy pony which I rehabilitated. We were told that she was possibly bred when we bought her. Mom has lost a mini foal and the mare once during birth and after we got Red and Barbie was in very good shape, we found her the most amazing home and sold her. We had found Barbie on their website when they were advertising three Appaloosa's mini's, and meant to email them but we never did...well, we saw the colt, read the description and, yep, that's her baby!! This horse meant the world to me and it killed me when we loaded her up in the trailer. The poor man that was taking her had to deal with my constant tears. My first thought was, "i want that colt!" but then I saw that it was sold already...poo. But, we called tonight. Barbie is doing amazing, yes, that is her colt, she is bred back to an Appaloosa stud, black with a snow blanket and blue eyes, they told us to keep in touch and call back in February. We have first dibs on her next foal. Mom and I have already decided-we are taking it.
It's a good thing that Jeff puts up with us sometimes.
For those that aren't on my Facebook and have already seen my excited posts about it, here are the photos from the Craigslist ad.
Oh. My. WORD. It looks identical to mama, just without her blue eyes. I am SO excited!!
I'm kind of hoping for a mare...I loved my little mare a lot. But it would be easier to get a stud so we could geld him. We shall see.
