Oh, Craigslist. (Hawkward!)

"Beautiful Buckskin Gelding! Great for beginners or an elderly person. If you want a horse you don't have to use a bridal on or have a hard time gettin' on or off you've found the one. Starbuck is about 15 years old. Stands about 16.5 hh, great all around horse. Anyone can ride him, if you know how to hold your balance and just want to sit back and relax, this is your horse. He's just like a big baby! He stands for farrier, loads and unloads excellent, neck reigns, he's not reg. We got told he is a QH but not real sure, I think he is a saddle horse. Price is neg. to good home. He's UTD on worming, etc. If your interested and would like to know more and see some more pics just call/text/email me. Thanks for looking."

Can you spy the problems in this little ad? Here are one ones I found.

1. There is no such thing at 16.5 hands. If he was that tall, he'd be 17.2. Judging by the pictures and the things he is standing next to, I doubt he's that tall.
2. Bridle* Not bridal.
3. Reins* not reigns
I will now be saying this at awkward moments. Lol

  1. I think 16.5 would be 17, but yeah, he's more like, 15.1, maybe, lol. Also, a saddle horse??? lol

    1. You may be correct, I've been exhausted all day. Lol. Bad at math, too. ;) And I know right?? So. Silly. There's also this guy-that I've posted about before-that keeps calling a colt a mare, then a gelding, then a stallion. Now he has two "mare colts" for sale. In the first ad, he wrote "I have a mare gelding for sale." and was talking about ONE. HORSE. Ummmm....you may want to get that mare/gelding checked out.

    2. WOWZA IS RIGHT! I can't believe it, "Mare Gelding?" What did he fix his mare? Yikes! 16.5 would be 17.1. Plus, how is 17.1 Easy to get On and Off...uhhh NOPE!

    4. I can't believe it! He doesn't even look close to 16 hands, much less 17.1. I would say that he's more like 15 hands....or less. He probably doesn't even know how much a hand is....either that or he was like eight inches off(or more) when he estimated. lol :D

  2. When I see people post 16.5 hands I always wonder if they are trying to say 16 and a half hands which would be 16.2 but then why not just say 16.2? I've seen it several times before, though.

Oh, and I've been guilty of using reign instead of rein. I was a history major and must've studied too much English history and the reign of so and so, etc. Haha!

Also, tying your horse with a chain lead rope is just asking for all kinds of trouble.

    1. I've used reign as well, but I think I had to add it just because the vast spelling mistakes. I mean, I'm super southern-from like, the same exact place as this guy who wrote the ad!-I even have an accent, but I don't talk like that..ummm...
And I didn't even NOTICE the chain! Wow! What is it, a dog?? I pretty much hate all chains when it comes to horses, good things never happen with them from my experience...ugh.

    2. PLUS! look how low he is tied...he could get his leg caught in seconds! Getting his leg caught on a chain...now that is just AWFUL!

    3. Ah I know! I'm also curious to what all that stuff is on the ground laying next to him...he could step on something bad, catch himself on the chain..urgh.
