Pick up a leather hole punch for like 10 bucks and yank them higher! When your reaching for your stirrups you can't feel comfortable. I am also mostly English so I say NO STIRRUPS. If it hurts your doing it right!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15257883227571880815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639697700009231176.post-10982317457824477032013-09-11T21:12:16.253-07:002013-09-11T21:12:16.253-07:00You probably already know all this but......
hold...You probably already know all this but......

hold your reins down by his withers. You should feel a very, very, slight tug when Red bobs his head while in motion. If Red isn't pulling the reins out of your hand on purpose they should not be tugged out of place just bye his usual head bobbing, that means they are too tight. Yet again you don't want to not feel anything, that means they are too loose.

Also practice riding with an English saddle so you no longer feel the urge to hold on to the cantle and/or horn.

Stirrups need shortening. BAD. :)

Well Hope It Helps!

BRENNABrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12175715851044715782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639697700009231176.post-70486247208749995672013-09-10T15:40:24.691-07:002013-09-10T15:40:24.691-07:00Definitely yank those stirrups up a couple of hole...Definitely yank those stirrups up a couple of holes, girl! Heels down, stirrups on the balls of your feet. :) Thanks!!Kalinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11011912207459834938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639697700009231176.post-84465783215760643482013-09-10T13:05:33.283-07:002013-09-10T13:05:33.283-07:00Not sure where the proper placement of the stirrup...Not sure where the proper placement of the stirrup is in western but it looks like in most of your photos the stirrup is in the "home" position all the way by your boot heel. You might find your foot staying in a more "proper" position if you try to keep the stirrup on the ball of your foot. But again this may be an english/western difference of which I'm unaware.

Otherwise just keep riding and practicing. You will continue to see improvement. :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00940605561665600285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639697700009231176.post-81552868635007359102013-09-10T12:08:11.355-07:002013-09-10T12:08:11.355-07:00The only way eq can be fixed is to work on it :)The only way eq can be fixed is to work on it :)L.Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05052638724440787772noreply@blogger.com
